a prayer from Psalm 139

O Lord, you search me, you see me, you know me.

You know me better than I know myself.

Help me understand the depths of your love 

because it all seems too good to be true.

O Lord, I don’t understand your ways, but I long to.

I long to be fully yours, to be what you wonderfully made me to be,

to be my small part of your ever-living goodness on earth.

So search me and know my heart.

Reveal me to myself and the sins I hide away, 

as you lead me on the road to eternal life.
