a prayer from Psalm 23

O Lord, our Shepherd,

You have led us into spacious places,

Where we find living water and rest for our souls.

When we are surrounded by loss and rejection,

Change and uncertainty,

When the unknown of tomorrow

and the endlessness of today

Clouds our sight,

We turn and return to you.

We look for the peace of your presence,

and we trust in your promises.

We join the feast you have prepared for us,

eating and drinking,

in faith proclaiming that

Jesus has triumphed,

Jesus is exalted.

Surely your goodness and mercy

Will lead us through every fire and flood

and keep us all our days,

And we shall dwell in your house forever.
