a prayer from Psalm 1

Oh Lord, would you form us to be a people

who do not get swayed by the winds of this world,

or wander from your good path. 

Rather, lead us in your kingdom way,  

teach us to delight in your word

so that our lives might flourish

like a tree planted by a flowing river, 

bearing fruit each season. 

Keep us from the ways of the wicked

that make us like empty husks and 

dried leaves blowing in the wind. 

Lord would you lead us in your way, 

and keep us from the path that leads to destruction.
