Sunday Recap - July 28, 2024

Here's a recap of Sunday's liturgy with scriptures, songs and other notable elements:
Call to Worship: Psalm 145:1-7 NLT
I will exalt you, my God and King,
and praise your name forever and ever.
I will praise you every day;
yes, I will praise you forever.
Great is the Lord!  He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness.

Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts;
let them proclaim your power.
I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor
and your wonderful miracles.
Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue;
I will proclaim your greatness.
Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness;
they will sing for joy about your righteousness.

Songs of Praise

Community Life - Katelyn Condon (Summer Community Programs Director)
• OMF is looking to house 18 international students all coming to attend highschool here in Thunder Bay, and have asked us if we have families who are interested in participating.  This is a fantastic opportunity to allow these kids to experience something that they will both carry with them all the days of their lives, and carry with them back to their home countries.  If you have extra rooms in your house and a desire to share Christ’s hospitality with the world, then please email Joel at joel@redwoodpark.ca to learn more.
• Prayer for the Body of Christ: Greek Orthodox Community Holy Trinity Church & Hope Church

Song of Confession
• Broken Vessels (Hillsong)
Call to Listen
Sermon - Joel Penney
Text: Psalm 109
Big Idea: The Psalms help us to navigate every possible situation in life, including the pain of betrayal, mistreatement and injustice.

Prayer/Song of Response
• Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus (old hymn)

Benediction
"“May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” (‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭2‬:‭16‬-‭17)
