Samuel Sarpiya

Missional Engagement Pastor

Out of an extensive background in church leadership and non-profit leadership-based organizations, Samuel provides Local, Regional, and International Missional Engagement Strategies for Redwood Park Church.

He graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a post-graduate Certificate in Nonviolence and Peace Studies, a Master of Divinity in Conflict Transformation from Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, Indiana, and a Doctorate Degree in Semiotics and Future Studies from George Fox University in Portland, Oregon, USA.
 
Samuel regularly engages in peacemaking around the world. He trained Nigerian Security Agencies (Army, Air Force, and Police) to use peaceful strategies to engage with the radical Islamist group Boko Haram. He also trained religious and political leaders in South Africa to use nonviolent methods for conflict reconciliation. He also trained the Police departments in Chicagoland and Yellow Spring, Ohio, on community policing techniques, addressing the challenges of racial profiling within police departments.
