Redwood Students

Redwood Students is our Jr. High & High School Ministry. It is our heart that this community would be a place where students can make amazing friendships, be encouraged to make wise choices, get opportunity to share their gifts with the community, grow their faith, and have a whole lot of fun doing all that along the way!

Students from grades 6 to 12 are invited to join us regularly on Wednesdays from 7pm to 9pm from September to June.

I’m new so…

If you’re trying out Redwood Students for the first time: awesome, glad to have you check it out! The best way to figure out what is going on is to head over to our @rdwdstudents instagram. There you’ll find the updated information for the week and also get to know the community a little more.

If you’re a student coming out to our Wednesday Night Program for the first time, get your parent to fill out this year’s Redwood Students Registration form. They can always fill it out when they drop you off, but it’s much easier to get it done online before you show up.

Register for 2022-2023

Here’s the general flow of our weekly Wednesday nights, so you know what to expect:

7:00PM Check-In
7:15PM Something Fun
8:15PM Life Talk and Groups
9:00PM Check-Out

Once a month we have a bigger event where the night is more about the fun thing we’re doing. Those generally still run the same 2 hours, but the flow is different. They are also great events for inviting friends.

Hey Redwood Students,

Unfortunately we have to postpone our High School retreat, I’m sorry. I wish we didn’t have to, but here’s the email I sent to those parents who signed up their students:

I regretfully want to let you know, that we are going to be postponing our High School Retreat for Redwood Students. Katelyn and I have wrestled through whether or not we could have a successful retreat this weekend and unfortunately we don’t think it is possible.

A few factors came into play, but here are the main two reasons:
The camp that was to be hosting us is just coming back into operation after the Covid season. As they began to restart and re-setup facilities it became apparent to us this week that they not yet ready to host us. We are hoping with a few more months the camp will be ready and I’m in conversation with their camp director to work on that.

Our registration of students was less than anticipated. We are wondering if the Covid pandemic and not doing retreats these last 4 years has affected sign up. All the reason more to have our first retreat done really well and create an experience we can build upon.

So what does this mean?

First off, you will receive a refund for the amount paid for retreat. That should be returned to whichever card you purchased the retreat registration with. If you don’t receive payment in the next few days, let us know.

Secondly, we say “postponed” because we feel we can still do retreats and want to have a great first one in the near future. We are looking into a few options for the future. One of those options would be to join High School and Junior High together for a winter retreat. This would increase numbers and potentially build a great experience. If you have any suggestions or feedback, would love to hear from you.

We are sorry that we have to postpone retreat, but we are anticipating great future ones.
