Last Saturday October 1st, Redwood Park Church welcomed around 250 cyclists and walkers as they gathered for Thunder Bay’s first ever RIDE for Refuge. The RIDE is an annual family-friendly cycling and walking fundraiser that helps charities raise money for displaced, vulnerable and exploited people around the world. Since 2004, the RIDE has helped 350+ charities raise more than $10,000,000. This year the RIDE raised over $2 million for around 250 charities at 35 locations, including Thunder Bay, throughout Canada and the US.
In Thunder Bay the RIDE was operated & managed by Julie & Peter McKenna from New Life Ministries – Hope House and 50 plus volunteers – thank you to all. Thanks also to our lead sponsor ‘Close Quarters Hunting’ – makers of “Grunts” J, our meal sponsor ‘Til-ka Construction’, and Rest Stop Sponsors ‘TBT Engineering’ and ‘Northern Lights Golf Complex’.
And of course thank you to all who came out to cycle or walk and raise funds to help those in need. We look forward to seeing everyone who believes ‘what moves your heart moves your feet’ next year on Saturday September 30, 2017.
Thunder Bay did an amazing job raising $60000 for six local charities including:
