Everyone Is Welcome. Nobody Is Perfect. Anything is Possible.

October 2016

We hope you are enjoying the arrival of Fall. Things are in high gear at Redwood – Every season brings new opportunities and we are excited about what is going on. You can feel the momentum building as we keep moving forward. Being a part of Redwood is so much more than simply showing up on Sundays. There is a role for you to play in the life of our church. If you haven’t found it yet, there are opportunities every single single week to get involved. Don’t miss out – It’s time to get in the game!

Here’s a few things to get excited about:

Redwood Kids
We are continuing to revamp our kids wing with renovations to improve our campus and create a welcoming and vibrant space for our kids to enjoy learning and growing as we continue to invest in the upcoming generations. We will be opening a brand new family room to accommodate parents who need to sit with their infants on Sunday mornings. This new room will have a live feed of our services in the auditorium so parents won’t miss out.

Redwood Students
We are excited to have reintroduced a student-only worship service every 2nd Sunday night for high schoolers. This night includes music & worship, teaching, games, food, milkshakes, and an awesome chance for students to connect (MORE INFO).

Small Groups
We are launching our fall small group sessions starting October 10th with over 25 small groups – representing over 230+ people! Groups are a great way for us to experience community together as we help each other grow as followers of Jesus and look beyond ourselves to make an impact in our city. It’s not too late to find a group and sign up!

Church-Wide Family Events
In September we kicked off our first family event of the fall at Centennial Park. We are excited to have these events monthly as a way to connect with others in the church. The next family event is happening on Oct 22 @ 11:30am at Belluz Farm. (MORE INFO)

Feedback Loop”
Join us for an evening of round table discussions focusing on who we are as Redwood Park Church and what our mission is all about as a church – this evening is facilitated by Redwood’s Board of Elders.
October 17 // Childcare provided for kids 0 to grade 3, plus an event specifically for grades 4&5 also happening that same evening in the gym.

We engaged in many conversations involving staff, board, and congregants through the spring and summer discussing the future of our Dinner Theatre. In the end, it was very clear to us that this was not the right year or timing to bring back Dinner Theatre.Redwood is in a very exciting season of change and vision refinement! With many changes rolling out in our programs and ministries, we felt strongly that it was wisest to focus our energy and resources towards the areas of immediate need and the ministries of Redwood that we consider most critical to fulfilling our mission as a church.

If you’ve been staying connected with us, you know that we have made some changes to our staff team.  At the beginning of the summer we did some staff restructuring and hiring in order to best position ourselves for the fall ministry season (READ MORE).

Andrea Pilon joined our staff team in September as our new Worship Director (READ MORE).  Dre has brought a unique blend of leadership and administration that we have needed and she is helping to shape our Sunday mornings and our communication strategies so that we can be more effective than ever.

Christy Enyart has stepped into a high-capacity volunteer role as our Groups Director and taken on the challenge of leading our small group ministry. Having many years of experience before moving to Thunder Bay, Christy brings a level of leadership and passion for groups that will transform our experience of community as a church.

Our team is also benefiting from the addition of Katelyn Condon and Emma Martin as interns (READ MORE).  We are excited for the gifts and energy these young women bring to our team to help develop and shape our youth and kids ministries.

Brand new to Redwood in winter of 2016

“I was looking for… I think I was looking for change. I was looking for something new in my life. I was looking for more…

I found that there is more.

I’m seeing that there is hope for a better life for me to live. I’m seeing that I can better myself and that I can even help better other people. And that hope comes through God.”
