New & Updates

Thanks for reading!
The fall season has been in full swing at Redwood and we want to keep you up to date with some highlights from this past month.

SMALL GROUPS

We are halfway through our Small Group fall session and very excited that 24 groups and 238 people are enrolled. We love seeing people get connected! We are seeing deep connections and friendships being formed, meaningful times of discussion and prayer, and a movement of people stepping up to volunteer and become part of what we are doing at Redwood. God is moving in our church and we are seeing evidence of that in a powerful way through our Small Groups.

MARRIAGE COURSE

Earlier this fall, our “Fixing Us” series on Sunday mornings explored marriage and what God designed it to be. Coming out of this series, we offered our Marriage Course to our community to delve into some important issues that arise in relationships. In this 7-week course, we have 17 couples enrolled that are gaining clarity in navigating through some fundamental steps towards a healthy marriage. The course highlights the significance of building strong foundations, the art of communication, resolving conflict, the power of forgiveness, the impact of family, good sex, and love in action. We love seeing couples take steps towards building healthy relationships and partnering with them on their journey.

FEEDBACK LOOP

On October 17, our Board of Elders hosted a Feedback Loop to gather with our church community to discuss how Redwood could best achieve our missional ends of loving God, loving others, and loving our world.  This was an opportunity for those in attendance to discuss, share, and dream up what it looks like for our church to become fully alive followers of Jesus. The suggestions and feedback that were shared at this meeting provided our Board with valuable input for them to further discuss and explore how to use this information to be better equipped in making decisions about our future as a church. We are very grateful to have so many people partnering with us and capturing the heart of Redwood’s vision.

BUILDING UPDATE

If you’ve walked the halls of Redwood, you know that we always have a building project on the go! We are constantly enhancing our space to help facilitate excellent programs, both on the weekends, and all throughout the week. Because family is at the heart of Redwood, we decided to design a family room in the kids’ wing for parents to use on Sunday mornings.  This room will be a quiet, cozy area for parents to go should they need to leave the service at any time to nurse or attend to a fussy infant.  We will have a live video stream of the service in the room so parents can still be engaged with the worship and message happening in the auditorium. We intend to have it up and running by the beginning of December!

UPCOMING FAMILY EVENT: DINNER AND A MOVIE

Redwood Kids is hosting a family night on November 18.  Head to the church with the whole family to enjoy a spaghetti dinner and watch “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” on the big screen! Dinner starts at 5:30pm and the movie will begin at 7pm.

Cost: $10 per adult, $5 per child.  Movie snacks will be available for purchase. Looking forward to making some great family memories and connecting with our Redwood Community!

FINANCIAL UPDATE

Thank you to each of you who are partnering with us financially. Everything we do in fulfilling our mission of making fully alive followers of Jesus happens through the generosity of your prayers, service and giving.

Here is a snapshot of how we are doing as we head into the final two months of this year:

When we set our annual budget we anticipate year end giving to round out our budget.  Hitting our annual budget goals lets us accomplish what we set out to do – exceeding our budget goals lets us dream for even greater impact in the new year!

For those of you who plan your giving at year end please be sure to do so in order to help us end this year strong, especially for those of you who are fulfilling your MOVE pledges. For those of you who are newer to Redwood and have never given, we ask you to prayerfully consider doing so in order to partner with us in what God is doing in and through our church:  Follow Here If You Want To Give To Redwood

Thank you for partnering with us in making Redwood such an amazing church in our city!
